Watercolour pencils work well in rain!To spend time outside drawing from observation means seeing and noticing in ways we just don't do otherwise. To give time and attention to the natural world, and respond by drawing, reinforces a bond with nature which can have a real effect on improving our sense of mood and wellbeing. The ethos of Green Sketching (founded by Dr Ali Foxon) is that drawing encourages a deeper connection with the landscape. The emphasis being on the process rather than the resulting artwork and the aim is to encourage widespread caring, understanding and protection of the environment. For more information about Green Sketching see - Dr Ali Foxon - Ted Talk (15min) Drawn to Nature https://www.ted.com/talks/ali_foxon_drawn_to_love_natureGreen Sketching for adults is particularly suited to beginners or those who lack confidence in drawing, however, those with more experience are also welcome to explore this approach to outdoor sketching. The sessions will run whatever the weather and will be limited to a maximum of five participants to comply with Rule of 6 group size and 2 meter distancing will be observed. We will give attention, close-up and distant, to elements such as line, tone, shape, form, texture & pattern etc., filling pages with fast and slow, non-precious sketches. Materials will be provided or you are welcome to bring your own. https://ticketlab.co.uk
