These dynamic, expressive paintings suggest heavy and evolving masses of air, water and light – a sense of uncontrolled nature on the move. The images appear to be constantly changing, rebalancing, surging forward and re-adjusting their relationship with gravity.

The association of the colossal is in direct opposition to the domestic scale of the paintings. The limited palette of reds add excitement and drama to the imagery. Sometimes pools of flat cadmium dominate, other times crimson bleeds into and floods the surface, creating an organic collision of colour.

A sense of the monumental is implicit, these paintings are windows into a world of epic proportions where mighty events occur.
